Features
FreedomBooks follows the familiar desktop-accounting way of working. Each everyday task has its own screen, and the reports come straight from what you record.
Money coming in
- Invoices. Bill a customer for work or goods and track what they owe.
- Sales receipts. Record a sale that was paid on the spot.
- Customer payments. Record a payment a customer sends you.
- Deposits. Group the payments you received and record the trip to the bank.
- Credit memos and refunds. Give a customer credit, or pay money back.
- Customer deposits. Record money a customer pays before the work is done.
Money going out
- Bills. Enter what you owe a vendor and when it is due.
- Bill payments. Record paying one or more bills.
- Checks. Record a check or other payment straight from a bank account.
- Transfers. Move money between your own accounts.
Keeping it right
- Bank reconciliation. Match your books to your bank statement, line by line.
- Sales tax. Keep track of the sales tax on your sales.
Reports
- Profit and loss. What came in, what went out, and what is left.
- Balance sheet. What the business owns and owes on a given date.
- General ledger. Every entry, account by account.
Each report can be run on a cash basis (when money actually moved) or an accrual basis (when you invoiced or were billed).
Built for a one-person business
FreedomBooks is meant for the business owner who does everything: one person, one bank account, personal and business money mixed together, and no bookkeeper. Instead of a bookkeeper, it offers AI help through an optional plugin, and nothing the AI suggests is saved until you save it yourself.
