Roadmap

FreedomBooks is in development and has not been released. Here is the honest picture of what is happening and what comes next. There are no promised dates.

1. A fast core, written in Rust Now

   The first working version of FreedomBooks was written in Python. That is the version in the screenshot on the home page. Its accounting rules are now being translated into a fast, reliable core written in the Rust programming language.

2. The desktop app Next

   A desktop app built on that core: it runs on your own computer, works offline, and keeps your books in one encrypted file.

3. Public builds After that

   Downloads for Windows, macOS and Linux, and the source code published on GitHub.
